I've searched and found a few posts about this, but all seem to have died.

This seems like a no-brainer feature:
When you connect a device to the guest os parallels should prompt with something like:
    "Automatically connect on VM start?"

This way you don't have to manually attach devices every time.

Autoonnect only one of six devices?

    Hi,

I have six USB devices connected. I want one device to always connect to the guest OS. the rest should remain with the host OS ... OSX.

Is something like this feasible? This would help alot.

I must add this device is a USB dongle I need for a programme in windows.

    wiseganesha,
Uhhh.... In Parallels 3 it defaults to ask you what to do when you connect a USB device... That's how we use our USB thumdrives, Palms, BBs, etc. in our law office. It just asks how we want things the first time we connect any given device.

    mawa_73527,
Yes, you can keep some devices in Parallels and other on OS X.

I know that ... this is done manually. But Iwant Parallels to recogenize the dongle and connenct to it and disregard the others automatically. I do not wnat to be asked what I want to do. I just wnat to tell parallels once what to do and it will always do it!

I hope this clarifies my point a bit better.

Well, if they are the same 6 devices, it shouldn't asking you all the time. It doesn't for us.

    shutting down windows

If you suspend windows it will remember the USB device but not if you shut down windows when quitting parallels.

i would dearly love to see this feature too. i have 2 usb network devices i have to attach manually every time. i also have some devices that i use in the host os and some in the guest os so having an either/or option isn't enough.

Same here - I would like the "Apple - Wireless" option to be on for me so the bluetooth radio recognizes it's going to use the Bluetooth from the Mac so I can always sync my Palm Treo in Windows !
