Our accounting app requires the use of IE. Is it possible to craft a URL for a shortcut that, when selected in Safari on the Mac side of things, will force the link to open using Internet Explorer in my Windows VM? I know there is the Open Current Page in IE button on the Safari toolbar, but the redirection that is done on the server side of things prevents me from getting to a point where that button will work for me.
I don't think so, in fact such ability would be dangerous, which means the ability of special crafted URL to open content in a specific app would be considered a vulnerability.
