Upgrading to pd 8

I am currently on win 7 and pd 7.. Running great..i would like to upgrade to pd 8. Can anyone tell me if the process is as simple as installing the pd8 upgrade and on completion it starts up with no additional os installs, etc needed.. Someone told me you have to reinstall windows plus the windows apps, etc.. I want to avoid that if possible.. Any advice

 

Whoever told you that really has no idea what they're talking about,
You just install PDM8, nothing on the Windows side is lost or requires reinstall.
