I saw a reference on another thread to run Permissions and to run a Time Machine backup.

I've got a first generation MacPro running Windows 7 via Parallels 6 and Snow Leopard.

Any words of caution or advice or url's on what to do prior to upgrade?

    Thanks

I've got a first generation MacPro and a 2009 MBP and am looking at upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion on the MacPro. Are there any words of caution other than the fact that iCloud won't work unless I upgrade to iLife 11?

The MacBookPro is in the shop because even though I have upgraded to 8 GB RAM and did a full re-install or Parallels 6 I still get pinwheel hangs in Safari, Pages, Postbox etcetera. This is a real drag and I can't figure out why this happens but I'm getting it checked out.

It's a good time to upgrade the MacPro however.

Any words or caution or advice?

Should I run something to do with Permissions and/or run a full Time Machine backup?

    Thanks.
