OK, I just got a new 20 inch iMac Core 2 Duo and the box version of the Desktop for Mac. After several restarts, I stowed my pride away and went online for help - only to discover that my version does not like the new Core 2 Duo. Now, from what I’ve read, there seems to be a version/build that does. My question is... where do I and others stand who got the box version of the software. Do we download a patch? Do we have to buy another version (surely not) !?!?! I can only assume we get an update….but where / how? Is there a thread or FAQ that covers this that I have missed? Thanks!
. All updates are available for download from the main site, www.parallels.com. Minor updates of the ?.x variety are free. Just download any version that has the same major version number as yours, ie. 2, run the install and parallels-config to update. Easy as that. .
Please try our latest internal build 1896.2 - http://download.parallels.com/RC/Parallels-Desktop-1896.2-Mac.dmg. It will work fine on Mac Pro and iMac Core 2 Duo with 2G RAM and less. And it is still has issues with more than 2G RAM. We are working hard to resolve these issues.
