I'm currently on Parallels Desktop 18 Standard Edition (non subscription).
Since a upgrade of my macbook (currently still on intel) is around the corner, i thought to use the Black Friday deals to upgrade.

Unfortunately the product page has gotten VERY pushy towards the subscription (won't ever get one, using it too little to justify a subscription), so the Standard Edition almost sounds like a downgrade, specifically missing the ability for "Run Windows apps with intensive graphics and processing needs", without any further details. Does that mean things with DirectX won't run properly, or is it just the limited resources (RAM/CPU .. 8GB in 2025 really?!).

Anyway, i will be trying out other solutions now. I have been a parallels customer for more than 10 years now, but this hostile behavior against customers without subscription is nothing i want to support anymore. There are enough alternatives, just like there were with Adobe (canceled it), Office (canceled it), and so on. I know parallels won't care about the 50$ every 2-3 years i spent, too bad.
