Sorry if I missed this, but I am updating my Parallels build 1970 for the first time to 3088. Since there are no updating instructions(that I can find), I want to make sure I do it right. I downloaded build 3088 and assume that you select install Parallels. Does the installation check for an earlier version and merely update it? I don't want to have to reinstall XP. Thanks for your helkp. Rod
There are more detailed posts on the forum that you can find, but the high points are: 1. Make sure you exit (not suspend) all you VMs before upgrading. 2. Some people find it helper to uninstall parallel tools from all their VMs before installing the upgrade. 3. A reboot of OSX isn't a bad thing in case an old kext is in a weird state. 4. Run uninstaller for 1970 5. Reboot 6. Install 3188 7. Reboot 8. Load VMs and make sure parallel tools gets installed. These are the really paranoid version.
