Parallels just finished its upgrade to v4.0.3846.436367, and I'm wondering why it installed the application file in the main Application folder instead of in the Parallels folder. Why wouldn't it put the new application where the old one was? I hate having files associated with an application dispersed over different folders, as it can cause problems in the future. Can I simply move the application file into the Parallels folder? I'm running Snow Leopard.
Hello, You can move it under the Parallels folder in Home Folder -> Documents -> Parallels. But, you might not be able to get the updates.
It's an application; I don't want to put it in the Documents folder. I'd like to know why it didn't install in the Applications-Parrallels folder where the other Parallels files are, and if I can move it there without causing problems.
Hello, Actually the .pvm file is not in the Parallels folder under application since we have a new option that is Application Settings included in the uninstall program of Parallels. So, if you try to uninstall and reinstall Parallels Desktop using the Applications Settings then your .pvm file which contains your virtual machine will also be deleted. So, it is better to leave the .pvm file to where it is.
