I had parallels running and had paid the fee to update it a few times (annoying) but the last mac os update I didn't do because I wasn't sure if I wanted to basically keep upgrading parallels each time. My daughter had sat down at the computer and did the mac os update, sure enough parallels wouldn't even start or run, so I decided to just remove it but now I can't get back into windows in general.

When I try to reboot the mac holding down the alt key i think it was to boot into windows it appears to start trying to load windows then the screen blinks and i get the mac sign in screen vs the windows os just starting up.

I am not super mac savy but once I couldn't get parallels working after the mac os update that my daughter did I figured if i uninstalled it then i could at least still use windows via the old reboot/hold alt key unless it's been so long that I am forgetting how that works too?

Frustrated at this point not sure what to do, windows was working fine no issues or anything until my daughter did that mac os update and i couldn't get in, my solution after being tired of repeatedly paying for parallels updates (basically rebuying it constantly) was to just remove it and go back to the old boot method but I can't seem to get that working either.

I figure someone has to have been in these shoes before and may be able to offer some input?

Nothing huge on that windows side that I NEED access to today or anything just like to be able to get it working again to reboot the mac into windows like i did before parallels via bootcamp but it's been so long maybe there's something i am doing wrong?
