Unfortunately I have lately problems with my network connection of Windows 7 under Parallels 8. Regardless if I have internet on my mac, windows 7 doesn't recognize it. I've tried several things:

    - Restart windows, computer, parallels etc
    - Reinstall the parallels tools
    - Use different types of network connections (Ethernet bridged, shared network etc)

So, I'm now out of options. Can someone please give me some more suggestions?
    Thank you upfront!

Follow the network troubleshooting guide in my signature.

Also, be sure to check for configured proxies in IE.

Solved the problem, next steps were taken:

In order to troubleshoot the issue we suggested you to perform the below mentioned steps:

    1. To check the network adapter in the Device Manager Menu in your Windows virtual machine. To open the Device Manager, please follow steps below:
    - Go to Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then choose the Device Manager.
    - Find and expand the network adapters in the Device Manager. If there are no network adapters or they have an exclamation or question mark on them, and provided following Knowledge Base article and complete the following instructions: http://kb.parallels.com/8865
    2. Since the issue persisted, we initiated remote session.
    3. Form Virtual Machine option on the Mac menu bar menu > Configure > Hardware > Network 1 and found that for this network adapter the Connected check-box is marked.
    4. Additionally, clicked "-_ to remove and then "+" sign at the bottom to remove/add a new adapter. Complete the creation wizard.
    5. Rebooted Windows Virtual Machine.
    6. This helped to resolve the issue.
