Uncompress Host HD?

I will try to state this with some clarity, but it may sound like rubbish, as I don't know what I am talking about:

I am attempting to open and edit files on my Host OS (OS X 4.10.11) with a program in my Guest OS (XP Pro sp2). Within the prog (SimPE), I browse and pick some from PSF/Mac HD folder (which have ".localized" attached to them), and the rest are in the Mac documents folder.

I am repeatedly getting an error message that states "Cannot access a closed file" and says it's from a directory of compressed files.

So Parallels compresses files to share them between Host and Guest OS? If so, Is there a way to uncompress them without opening them directly (giving a third party prog access to them)?
Does the attached "localized" have anything to do with this?

    I'm confuzzled. (o_O)

    Hello Lethe,

What exactly are you using SimPE for?

Did you try to reinstall Parallels Tools?

    Best regards,
