Unable To Install Parallels Desktop

Managed to install Desktop on my Imac Intel...no problem, previously able to install Workstation on my MacbookPro Intel but no way am able to install Desktop on my MacbookPro Intel. I have tried two different Windows XP Professional discs and also tried installation via the .iso image file way. Error messages keep appearing during setup......any ideas please??

Could you be more specific please? What message, on what stage of installation?

The error messages are as follows Andrew.....fatal error prevents setup from continuing/manifest parse error, invalid at top level of the document/sxs dll:syntax error in policy file d:\I386\asms\10\msft\windows\gdplus\gdplus.man
I have 1GB ram on my MacBook Pro and 612mb ram allocated to the VM ( max 616mb recommended)
Hard disk size 100GB....

Just to add.....during VM set up it says that VM being composed includes 8000MB virtual hard disc which exceeds free space available on target host disc??!!

Andrew....disregard problems. I have found the problem to be with the Windows XP disc itself. Strange tho' as it worked on my Imac before!!
