Unable to connect to the Parallels appliances server.

    Hi,

    I get this error when I want to install any of the appliances. Almost 2 days searching kb and forums and I tried a lot: no firewall active, setting file access, ...

    This command from the kb:
    "/Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_updater_ctl" download -u file -f http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v10/appliances.xml -p ~/ -ui -fo​

    gives:

    FILE_PATH: /Users/johan/appliances.xml
    FILE_SIZE: 0
    PROGRESS: 0
    DOWNLOADED_BYTES: 125745
    Unable to connect to the Parallels Update site.

    I copied http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v10/appliances.xml (URL in browser and save as) manually in my userdir but didn't fix the problem.
    (also tried v11 because the trial is v11 but no luck)

    I installed the trail version for Mac and was't exception this problem :(

    Please advice.

    Hi @Johan2, please let us know the version of Windows or any OS (test environment) that you would like to install as a virtual machine.

    for the record: parallels support provided URL's to the MS VM's, the main connection problem is not resolved but I don't have the time to debug this more, it's working (Wim 8, no more Win10 trial).

    Win8 is working so OK for me, I don't have time anymore to debug the connectivity problem.
