this is a unusual question you may not of had before: i want to freeze my system with "deep freeze" a product put out by www.faronics.com this freezes your system so that nothing ever changes...you cant save anything to it after freezing it...if i create 2 or more vm`s then freeze the 1st. will this affect the others? i want to freeze the 1st. os installation ( after creating several needed vm`s ) but need to know if this will affect the other vm`s...will they be frozen as well??? if the tech. support staff can answer this, it would be greatly appreciated...i dont want to but multiple licenses if i dont need to. thanks,newuser2
Hi. As i right understood product that you specified integrating at OS subsystems (registry, file system and etc.). So it working at guest OS level and i don't see any reasons why installed at 1st VM it can somehow affects others. Each VM is independent environment with it's own couple of resources. It would be better to consider each VM as separate computer - in this case i think you can answer on your question yourself: if you install application on one computer how it can to affect another one with best regards, Alexander
thata what i thought thats what i thought, i just wanted to see if anyone has tried it before. another question: can i boot into a certain vm, instead of booting into the 1st. vm...lets say i have 3-4 vm`s i only want to boot into vm-3 not any of the others, is this possible? i just want to ask before i actually try using it. thank`s newuser2
Of course you can startup any VM at different time. The rest VMs will be in stopped state until you startup them too. with best regards, Alexander
good good, sorry if my questions sound stupid, but im new to this type of thing. quite a while ago when vmware was just starting out i tried a product of theirs but found it useless so i never bothered with this type of software...im very glad i waited for parallels though, it seems almost too good to be true... thanks, newuser2
