It took me 6 weeks to get Parallels 3.0 after buying it in the UK, i.e. 6 weeks after its release in the US. Am I going to have to wait another 6 weeks for build 4560? In the UK, if I run "Check for Updates" the whole thing does not work to the point where it just continues looking for updates, not even returning to say there are none. The whole way overseas licencing is done is awful. When new builds are available in the US, they cannot be downloaded and used by overseas customers. Now, foreign language builds may need customising, but UK builds do not, surely. Please, let's just have ONE set of serial numbers, and ONE build for all markets. Leaving support to 3rd parties overseas is not working.
I downloaded my first version in about June 2006 to Brum UK and have taken all downloads after that from the web site paid for 3.0 in UK pounds too this time then 24 hours later got 4560 installed about 2 hours ago In Denmark just now Hugh W
Dear Ralph, Thanks for your feedback. We did experience some troubles with UK version delivery, and we are sorry about troubles it caused. The issue has been resolved. UK 4560 build will be available this week. You will be notified about this through auto-update in your 4128 build. Regards, Alex
This probably works if you have bought online. This does not work, if like in my case, your company bans all Internet purchases and you have to buy a physical product through a UK supplier.
Alex Thanks for your reply, which is somewhat reassuring. However, as I note, not all the issues have been resolved. Doing "Check for Updates..." neither returns that there is no update, nor returns the update. It just sits there indefinitely saying please wait. This issue needs fixing, as well as timely release of the update itself.
Well, we are now into NEXT week, and build 4560 is NOT available in the UK, despite Alex's assurance above. In fact, much of the time clicking on check for updates, just sits there with no response. On the rare occasions a response is received, it still shows 4128 as up to date. If you think that the problems with UK version delivery are cured, think again...
Well, YET ANOTHER week has gone by and (a) auto-update still does not work 90% of the time for UK customers, and (b) on the rare occasions it does, we still dont see build 4560. Frankly, what Parallels wants to happen, and what it seems able to make happen, are in different universes...
Reality check. It's the 2nd August, 2 weeks later. UK Build 4560 has never appeared. We are still stuck on Build 4128. US Build 5060 is available to US customers. Its time for you guys to put up, or shut up. Your overseas customer support isues really do need attention by someone at the highet levls of the company.
I have the same problems, the UK delivery system just does not work. Why can't the online system simply deliver the latest version. The local supplier does not answer emails, this does not bode well for the future.
