I just ran "check for updates" on my 1970 build of the UK retail version of Parallels Desktop for Mac, and it offered the 3186 release for download. I downloaded and ran it as instructed, but it appears to have updated the download version that I also have installed. (Because UK retail versions don't work with beta releases, so you have to install the download version and get a trial key... ) If I run Parallels.app it still reports build 1970, and when I try and start a VM I get the "cannot communicate with one of its drivers" error. If I run Parallels Desktop.app, it now reports build 3186. I'd test to see if it actually works, but of course the trial key has expired again... To confirm this, I deleted both Parallels.app and Parallels Desktop.app, re-ran the installer, and I get a fresh Parallels Desktop.app and no Parallels.app. I would be nice to have a working update to the 1970 build for UK retail users without having to keep requesting trial keys...
