I have gotten the trial version installed on Ubuntu 6.10. I edited the scripts to use /bin/bash instead of /bin/sh. The product is installed and working well and fast. Really like it. However I can't get any USB device to connect and I can't get my cdrom to be recognized. I have another laptop with 6.06 on it and it sees the cdrom but will not connect to a USB device. Is there any way to fix this. I want to buy the product but really want the cd & usb to work. I have tried the permission things and it still does not work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Build I read that I needed to add this information Parallels Workstation for Linux Version 2.2 Build 2112. Ubuntu 6.10 Kernel 2.6.17-10-generic Thanks
USB Working I have been working with USB and now things seem to be working. I am going to try some other programs like the ipod and palm and see how that works. I still can't get the cdrom to work correctly. Any help on the cdrom? Thanks
Unfortunately, I can't help with the CD-ROM, but may be, you can help me with USB, because, I have the same problem. I described it: HERE. If you have the solution, I would be glad to read it.
Fixes Well as I use the software and have things working on other machines I start to understand that some issues are my own lack of knowledge. 1. CDROM working now and I really had to assign it to the /dev/scd0. To fix for other people do an ls - al in the /dev and use that source for the sym link. 2. always run parallels from the comand line as root.
