Hi- I'm trying out Parallels on my iMac, mostly to use my Davis Weatherlink Windows program which needs to communicate with my weather console data-logger, which is connected to my home network. The Parallels install went well along with tools and the guest OS which is Windows XP x64. My iMac is connected through my network wirelessly with Airport and I have good internet access with both iMac and Parallel Windows OS. The problem I have is my Davis Weatherlink program cannot see my data-logger. I tried messing with the iMac and Windows network and sharing settings, including turning off the firewall but I just can't figure it out. I am by no means a network guru so sure could use some help and ideas to try. I know the default port the weatherlink program tries to use is 22222.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Did you try switching to the bridged mode?
i.e. in bridged mode your Windows virtual machine would get a separate IP address, external one. In shared networking mode the VM has an internal IP address, so connections from the outside may not reach it.
You can switch network modes in Configuration -> Network adapter 1 -> Bridged ethernet.

Alternatively, you can try setting up port forwarding as it is described in the guide:
    http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/22245.htm

    Just Purchased

Thanks for the help. I now have all my PC programs working on my iMac in Coherence mode. I was using the trial version and just purchased a retail copy.
