I installed True Image on my Parallels 4 XP Pro. The question is where to do the backup. It clearly has to be off the Windows drive. So I picked a place on Mac HD4. It created the archive and backed up to it successfully. However, I then wanted to do incremental backups onto this repository, so I made another backup task using the same information as on the original backup. But it fails every time I try to run it. See attached. The Acronis chat person said that Mac drives are not supported! So, where is one supposed to backup to? It seems as if this is a useless product if this is the case. I have no other Windows drives. I would actually prefer to back up to a Linux drive, but I get the same failure message.
Hi, can you please try to create backups and store them on Windows hard drive temporarily. Just move the backup files created to external drive as soon as backup process is finished.
I do not have to do this for a full backup, which works. But I do not have any other Windows drives. Putting a backup of C on C is not a great idea. It is the incremental or differential backups that fail. So is this indeed software that is mostly useless in the Parallels environment? Surely you guys/gals have worked out how one is supposed to use True Image in Parallels before offering it as an add-on? Has anyone gotten this to work without using an external NTFS drive?
