Trouble connecting Canon 5DmkIII DSLR camera to GBTimelapse (Win7, os X 10.9, PD9)

I am having trouble connecting my camera to the timelapse camera control program GBTimelapse under Mac OS X 10.9, PD9 and Win7. My camera seemingly connects initially through its USB cable (the camera serial no. shows up briefly within the GBTimelapse tether-window), but the connection is dropped almost immediately, and "CamCtrl:No camera detected" then shows up at the status field at the bottom of the program window.

I have since installed the same program on my wife's Acer laptop and it works there without a problem, so the problem doesn't seem to be with Win7 or GBtimelapse. And I am abe to work tethered with my camera and all the camera control programs I have installed for OS X on my Macbook Air, so it seems like the problem lies somewhere in the communication between Mac OS X / Paralells / Windows.

Would really appreciate some feedback on this as I purchased PD9 specifically for this purpose.
