Hi, I know this isn't directly supported.... But I'll give it a go and see what people make of this post...

I have a triple booting MacBook Pro... that was the easy part...

I have parallels configured to see the two other OS' and it was all working fine... I could boot my Windows XP (NTFS formatted disk) under parallels and natively, I could boot my linux (slackware 11) (ext3 formatted) both natively and in parallels...

then a few days ago, I turned on my mac, (cold boot) and parallels (windows xp) says it is "unable to open disk image Boot Camp;disk0s4!" so I thought it was a windows problem, booted natively ran check disk and other disk tools to check it... the disk is fine, boots normally and everything is ok... but parallels still doesn't see it...

ok this is where is get a bit weird... I have then checked my linux disk (boot camp;disk0s3) and that works fine. so I thought I'd have a play, and added the disk0s4 as an additional drive to the linux... it works ok.... linux can see and (Read-only) read the ntfs disk....

So does parallels run some sort of disk check before it boots?
is there some strangeness in my windows partition?

    any advice will be appreciated...

    Thanks Guys....

    Solution

    ok, what worked for me....

dd the windows partition to a file

dd the linux partition to a file

delete the partition, and grow the mac partition to fill the disk

rebuild the partitions and dd them back...

now it all boots properly and parallels works too

    good luck out there
