First, Transporter is a great tool. It basically pulled 99% of my Windows environment across the network and installed it in my Parallels VM on my new iMac. The instructions should be clearer that if you have a network connection between your Mac and your PC that you only should run the Transporter Agent on the PC and run Transporter on the Mac. The progress bar could be more helpful. It took several hours to get less than 1/4 done and then the last 3/4 finished in about 2 hours. The 1% missing (all that I have noticed so far), is many icons and shortcuts from my desktop. Is there a reason why certain icons do not get placed on the Virtual Windows desktop? So far, all of the applications seem to work the same other than looking much better on my iMac display. Now I get a message that there is a duplicate user name on my network because my VM Windows is running on my iMac and my PC is still up because I need to check things out. Is it OK to ignore this or can a user name be changed without Windows treating it like a new user? Why are the Parallels Shared applications needed? Not sure why I would need to run Mac applications in Windows?
