I'm about to get a new Mac - one that I plan to use Parallels on.

I would prefer to try using Windows in Parallel as a virtual disk first, but if I find that the games & apps I want to use are too resource-hungry, I'd like to have the option to take my virtual-disk-based Parallels Windows install and migrate it to a new Boot Camp partition.

    Is this possible?

I mean, I realize that I could just format my HDD from the start, setup Boot Camp and run Parallels from that... but my preference is to just run Parallels from it's own virtual disk, as I like the thought of being able to pause / suspend my system, of being able to have a compressed image, of not having to deal with an extra HDD partition, etc. -- unless it proves that I do really need Boot Camp for games & etc.

It's not impossible, but rather difficult and might not work. There are no tools specifically designed for this task, unless you are comfortable and at home with cloning tools and resolving hardware mismatch issues I would not recommend.
