    Hi,
I am a new user to Parallels Workstation. I have Windows XP pro running on my IBM laptop. I installed Ubuntu 6.10 using Paralles on windows. I want to transfer files between XP and Ubuntu. Please could anyone help me in how to do it. I have no idea at all on what to do.

    Thanks in advance

I am trying to install samba using:
    sudo apt-get install samba

But its saying the package is not available. How can I get the package so that I can go ahead and install samba, I do not have internet also setup on Ubuntu. Could you please suggest me.

My preferred answer to this problem, is to install openSuSE 10.1. Comes with Samba and all other good things open source.

Beyond that, try an Ubuntu forum, or hope David Corrales answers.

One thing will work for sure, make sure that the autodetect USB is on and just use a flash drive. I have an external usb hard drive that I use. Mean while, I will try to figure out how to install and configure Samba on Ubuntu 6.10
