This was unwelcomely exciting. I installed Win7 in a new virtual machine on the latest Mac Mini using the latest Parallels software under Snow Leopard. It seemed to go well. I needed to manually install Parallels Tools. That worked for about ten seconds before my Mac suffered a crippling kernel panic. We won't be trying that again for a while.

I had the same issue and uinstalled window 7 64 bit professional and reinstalled windows xp 64 bit professional. I run a Mac Book Air Intell dual processor 2 gig of ram snow leopard OS 10.XXXX. On my PC at the moment Mac not with me.

It would seem some interoperabilty issue with previously installed windows products. I failed to mention that I unindstalled the previous parrallels 4.0 and Win XP machine completely before I installed the Win 7 and Parallels 5.0.

    Best regards,
    Marta
