I have not been able to install Parallels Tools on my XP Virtual OS.

When the Tools Installation disc autoruns, it stalls with an error message.

    "RegDBQueryKey(Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\RunOnce) failed"

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

    workaround - Install Parallels Tools

I can't BELIEVE I figured this out (Windows is so messed up... why, oh why, does it INSIST on never making any sense).

    \Start\Run...\regedt32

    navigate to

    \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

right-click on the FOLDER CurrentVersion (on the left side of the window)

    new Key

    name it

    Run

    Restart

After reboot and login as admin, from the VM menu, Install Parallels Tools will now work without that error.
