I can't even get Parallels Tools to try to install -- how are you trying to install them? The only method I have found to try to install them is from the Actions -> Install Parallels Tools menu ... is there another way to try to force it?
I just found this thread after starting one just like post #2. I can't even get tools to start installing either. Parallels 3.0 MBP CD Win XP Pro (up to date) Could this be a MacBook Pro problem?
Got it working on a little piece of advice from the other thread about this. I went to the Windows Control Panel -> System then Device Manager and uninstalled the DVD drive. Restart. Tools installed.
