When I resume my XP VM on Parallels for OS X, the time doesn't resync right away. It takes a couple minutes, but I'm usually in a hurry and forget about that, and just turn the VPN client on right away and get to work. Then, when the time resets itself in a couple minutes, the VPN client drops. Are there any hooks that Parallels has at the guest OS level such that it knows it's been resumed and could synchronize the guest OS clock right away, instead of waiting for the guest OS to do it on its own? Just curious, it's a minor annoyance, but it would save some time if it could do that.
You can tune time synchronization frequency yourself in Parallels Tools Center in guest XP. Check attached screenshot with marked option please. But don't set it very small - 5 seconds I think suit you fine.
Wow, I didn't even see that. I tried setting it to 30 seconds, and it's fine now. That's about how long it takes to get the VPN client up and running etc. Thanks!
