This software is not beta, it's "feature complete"

    Request to Parallels team-

You have hands down made one of the best products of the year, if not the last 10 years. It's innovative and works as advertised very well.

However, I would humbly ask you re-calibrate your release nomenclature. While there were a lot of disclaimers on the post, when you advertise build 3036 BETA, I don't think you anticipated the flood of errors (my interpretation of the staff's response to posts about FAT32 and a variety of other errors). In addition there are a number of bugs that flat-out could and should have been found with internal testing. This release does not work as advertised, there's no information and release notes about errors in the bios, configuration conflicts and the like. If you were truly blind-sided by these problems, then the team needs to re-think the release plan. If you knew of the problems then why not put up an immediate FAQ or better release notes.

It is hard to interpret from the forums, because the posts here are going to catch the two extremes: the ecstatic and extremely satisfied, or the people with problems. It does appear there are a larger number of problems than any previous release. Although the nature of many of these reflect earlier missteps as well (the Mac Pro memory issues), etc.

You are selling product and earning money. Therefore, it seems reasonable that someone with good management experience would be able to focus on improving your QA. In addition, there's so much overlap in the nature of certain problems that the one-off posts by the team to address issues are getting lost. This forum needs a definition FAQ or Wiki to capture the knowledge you are sharing or others are discovering.

This post is not meant to be snarky, but in general feedback that I hope will improve your product. I realize you are running fast before EMC/VMWare release a free product that cannibalizes the market or other competitors erode the opportunity by targeting the gamers with D3D support. Long-term sustainability will come from releasing innovative new features that are beta, not simply "feature complete".

Many thanks on the hardwork and focus. The features in the release were truly a surprise for the community and knowing OS development, I know how extremely complicated the underlying software is. You guys are rock stars and I wish for your long-term success and hope a few constructive comments will cause you to improve your product and customer service.
