    Hello,

I have installed Parallels 5 on my Mac book pro and
installed a Ubuntu linux. All is ok, but the problem is that
the size of the guest (linux) is very (too) small.

I tried to change the resolution into Linux
    but that does not work.

    Parallels tools have been installed.

No such a problem arised with the Windows seven guest ...

Does any one an idea ?

    Thanks in advance?

I had the same problem, but somehow managed to get the window to get bigger by expanding it with the mouse while the virtual machine was booting. But I'm not sure this was just a fluke, and now asm reluctant to reboot the virtual machine in case it reverts to the original tiny size.
No such problem of course with Windows XP.

Ran into this problem today with Fedora 12.
Try increasing the allowable memory. Default was set to 3m, increased it to 8m.

Parallels Desktop -> Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Hardware -> Video -> Video Memory.

Once that was complete was able to set screen resolution to something more manageable than 640-480.
