Hey Parallels Team, ' want to know the single feature that will blast away VMWare? (or vice versa...) Let people run a VM from the BootCamp partition! I've seen this request in a few forums, and it would be an awesome feature for several reasons: 1) Lots of people (like me!) want to run in VM mode most of the time but some times want to run under Bootcamp for either performance reasons, or for USB support. 2) It would help people who are craving USB support for special devices: at least they can reboot into bootcamp and get their device working temporarily. 3) You'd be reaching out to the growing installed base of Bootcamp users, and give them an instant way to run their Windows setup in a VM. 4) I bet that running directly from a partition rather than a virtual disk will be much faster too. If you would implement this feature, you would make me and many other people very, very happy, and you'd make Desktop a better and more successful product.
I seem to remember the Parallels people saying that this will be in the next major version. They didn't give an ETA, but I would guess it will be a while...
