I have a series of issues that all end up in the same place - frustration. I received Parallels with my new Mac in December. I registered the product and the information required. In order to receive a rebate, I had to submit documentation, and I believe that I inadvertantly submitted the portion of the software cd paperwork that had my activation key. Then something went haywire with Parallels, and I would get the report that I did not have Parallels. So I attempted to uninstall and reinstall. When I begin to reinstall, I am told that I will be replacing the newest with an older version. Everytime I attempt to launch the reinstall program, it reports that there is nothing to install, yet the system cannot find or run the program. I guess my question is threefold - how do I relocate my activation key, how do I figure out what happened, and how do I reinstall the original software? Wheelerlaugh
its possible your licence key is still in a file in /Library/Parallels (use terminal to look for a file .parallels.licence.xxxxxx where xxx is a version number. The key should be in plain text in there, if it hasn't been deleted by the uninstall. also.. look in /Library/receipts and delete any Parallels named files in there too... hth
