    I found a problem that seems to depend upon pretty specific circumstances.

    So... in case you're observing this odd behavior: a Windows taskbar that "flickers" or rapidly switches sides between top and bottom, or left and right...

    If you have a setup like mine, then I believe I found the cause & solution. Otherwise... I dunno.

    <the situation>
    I have two monitors on my Mac Pro, and I use Coherence with "Use Multiple Displays" checked in the Parallels "View" menu, under "Customize: Coherence". On the same dialog box, I had checked "Windows Taskbar: Relocate automatically."

    My Dock is on the left side of the left-hand monitor. My Taskbar is normally on the right side of the right-hand monitor. If it's relevant to this problem, my monitors are vertically offset slightly to enable some Mac usability. I know that doesn't work out perfectly in Windows under Parallels, but I can deal with losing some pixels; I don't know this to have caused any actual *problems*.

    I just upgraded (from a normal release, not Beta) to the latest build, Parallels 3.0 build 5582. Suddenly my task bar was rapidly switching sides back and forth.
    </the situation>

    If you uncheck "Windows Taskbar: Relocate automatically" then the problem goes away. You can now grab the Taskbar and move it to the place you want it. Bam: 6 paragraphs to describe, 1 sentence of solution.
