I was surprised by the stability of Parallels workstation, since i had never experienced a single crash with any of the beta releases. Now with RC2 i've seen my first crash (MAC OS X Crash). Details below for Parallels if they want to look into what happened. panic(cpu 1 caller 0x0019CAEF): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 1, Type 14=page fault), registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x00000000, CR3: 0x00df8000, CR4: 0x000006a0 EAX: 0x8913d090, EBX: 0x0398e2b4, ECX: 0x05113444, EDX: 0x00000000 ESP: 0x00000000, EBP: 0x24cbbab8, ESI: 0x039a11a4, EDI: 0x05353984 EFL: 0x00010213, EIP: 0x00967bd4, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x24cbb948 : 0x128b5e (0x3bbeb8 0x24cbb96c 0x131bbc 0x0) 0x24cbb988 : 0x19caef (0x3c1340 0x1 0xe 0x3c10f8) 0x24cbba38 : 0x197b53 (0x24cbba4c 0x24cbbab8 0x967bd4 0x370048) 0x24cbba44 : 0x967bd4 (0x370048 0x15e0010 0x5d00010 0x10) 0x24cbbab8 : 0x966dbd (0x5353984 0x0 0x0 0x4342ad0) 0x24cbbb28 : 0x966f73 (0x5353984 0x24cbbed8 0x198084 0x14) 0x24cbbbe8 : 0x9672e9 (0x5353984 0x24cbbed8 0x18 0x19cb02) 0x24cbbd68 : 0x96558a (0x5353984 0xc0185401 0x24cbbed8 0x198b25) 0x24cbbd88 : 0x1e3d72 (0xd000000 0xc0185401 0x24cbbed8 0x81) 0x24cbbdc8 : 0x1dac2e (0x24cbbdf0 0x297 0x24cbbe28 0x1c4423) 0x24cbbe28 : 0x1d29c3 (0x52c3210 0xc0185401 0x24cbbed8 0x81) 0x24cbbe78 : 0x32550f (0x5b7eaf0 0xc0185401 0x24cbbed8 0x5b7d000) 0x24cbbea8 : 0x343849 (0x5b7eaf0 0xc0185401 0x24cbbed8 0x5b7d000) 0x24cbbf78 : 0x36d8e4 (0x5b7d000 0x4eac944 0x4eac988 0x0) 0x24cbbfd8 : 0x197e7e (0x4342d48 0x4342d48 0x398e2b4 0x0) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xbfffee28 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.parallels.kext.vmmain(2.2)@0x964000 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.6.1: Tue Mar 7 16:55:45 PST 2006; root:xnu-792.9.22.obj~1/RELEASE_I386 Model: MacBookPro1,1, BootROM MBP11.0055.B03, 2 processors, Intel Core Duo, 2.16 GHz, 2 GB Graphics: ATI Radeon X1600, ATY,RadeonX1600, PCIe, 256 MB Memory Module: DIMM0/BANK 0, 1 GB, DDR2 SDRAM, 667 MHz Memory Module: DIMM1/BANK 1, 1 GB, DDR2 SDRAM, 667 MHz AirPort: spairport_wireless_card_type_airport_extreme (0x168C, 0x86), 0.1.17 Bluetooth: Version 1.7.3f4, 2 service, 0 devices, 1 incoming serial ports Network Service: Built-in Ethernet, Ethernet, en0 Network Service: Parallels Host-Guest Adapter, Ethernet, en2 Serial ATA Device: ST910021AS, 93.16 GB Parallel ATA Device: MATSHITADVD-R UJ-857 USB Device: Built-in iSight, Micron, Up to 480 Mb/sec, 500 mA USB Device: Bluetooth HCI, Up to 12 Mb/sec, 500 mA USB Device: USB Receiver, Logitech, Up to 1.5 Mb/sec, 500 mA USB Device: Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad, Apple Computer, Up to 12 Mb/sec, 500 mA USB Device: IR Receiver, Apple Computer, Inc., Up to 12 Mb/sec, 500 mA
Hi, Why in the world would that not surprise me That seems to be Parallels general response to most issued discussed in the forums. Thanks for some amazing betas, great RC's, and amazing support for the Mac version. When you finish this version you might want to look at SCSI emulation (like vmware), Vmware VM conversion or compatibility, multiple processor support and drag and drop between guest and host , and the ability to choose whether to plug USB devices into the guest or the host upon insertion.
