True or hardware raids are still expensive these days, thus more motherboards (and even some cards which claim to be raid cards) offer limited raid functionality, i.e., without or with very much trimmed down controller capability. I myself own a motherboard with SATA RAID which is sadly NOT true or hardware raid. The limitation in software alternatives to raid currently inhibits the use of dual/multiple OS on the same array. With my hardware configuration, I can format the RAID to work only in windows or only in Linux. Having a separate hard disk for the alternate OS is still useless since the non-RAID OS will not be able to use the RAID disks. Sad for us who are stricken with OS ambidependency. My question: is software or false raid supported by either Parallel Workstation or Parallel VM Compactor? If not, are plans in the offing? Interested to really hear from you. Thank you.
