With all the rancor about a Linux version of Parallels Tools, perhaps an interim solution would be a tool set that only handles the most disruptive missing feature: the mouse leaving the window. I can think of many difficulties in producing P.T. for Linux. There are dozens of distributions with dozens of variations each, and nobody uses the same desktop manager. Possible solutions (assuming that your business model precludes a release of any substantial amount of source code): Intel's IPP has code that allows targets to build RPMs without releasing source OpenCV has code that allows a build tree to build RPMs for several different platforms. Release the API that allows the VM to tell Parallels about the mouse leaving the window and let the community build the application (I bet it will happen pretty fast) Wrap the VM/Parallels API (just the mouse part) in a statically linked library that has nothing to do with X or any other libraries on the system. Let the community figure out how to tie it into X and the desktop manager. Just an idea. Thank you for a great product. -- Sal smile.
