Here's an odd one. When I click the start button in Parallels on my MBP, the harddrive of the laptop makes the same sound as it does when the sudden motion detector parks the drivehead, or the same sound the laptop makes when coming out of sleep. I don't believe my harddrive is asleep because I just started the Parallels application which must have required harddrive reads.
