I just received three identical emails claiming to be from "Parallels Team" with the subject "Parallels Product Registration". Each said: _____ Dear Robert Delaney, You or somebody else had tried to register key for Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac. This key is already registered. Registration details: Product: Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac Key: Activation date: 2010-05-24 Sincerely, The Parallels Team http://www.parallels.com _____ where I have deleted the Key. The listed key was correct for my old 3.0 version, so I assumed the email was legitimate. I replied to the email saying that I didn't try to register that key since I'm using Parallels 5.0. My reply was returned as undeliverable with a message reading in part: _____ ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- central (reason: 550 5.1.1 User unknown) (expanded from: <[email protected]>) _____ So now the email appears not to be from the Parallels Team. But how did they get the correct Key for my old Parallels 3.0? And what is their purpose? Bob
