Hi all. I have Windows 7 installed under Parallels Desktop for Mac, and for the last couple of months whenever I restart Windows I get a dialog box thrown up at me which asks me which application should be used to open a file. It is not Parallels version-specific; it gets thrown up in versions 7 & 9 anyway. The file is called [my forename] and the list of applications it shows as options to open it include lots of Mac apps rather than just Windows ones. (So I'm not sure if it is a Windows dialog box or a Mac one, but it looks more like a Windows one…) It seems to me that it is perhaps something to do with a startup item, but running msconfig reveals nothing in the list of startup items that fits the bill. Does anyone have any idea what it might be, and how to stop the dialog box appearing? When I open the file using the Windows Notepad, (which is one of the apps in the list; it is an odd mix-up), the resulting .txt file reads as follows:- =========================================================================== Interface List 16...00 1c 42 df 6a 0e ......Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection 1...........................Software Loopback Interface 1 17...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Microsoft ISATAP Adapter 15...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface =========================================================================== IPv4 Route Table =========================================================================== Active Routes: None Persistent Routes: None IPv6 Route Table =========================================================================== Active Routes: None Persistent Routes: None
