I've been using WordPerfect Office X3 on Parallels v4 (Build 3846) since I got my new iMac (4GB DDR3, Intel Core2 Duo 3.06GHz, Snow Leopard) about three weeks ago. And everything worked fine - until today. When I accessed Parallels, it said the Tools were not installed, so I clicked on "Reinstall Parallel Tools", then rebooted when it was done. When I then opened WP, I found some of my files were messed up - primarily, the single line separator (created by typing in a few dashes, then hitting return) had suddenly been converted into a big, empty box in some files, but not all. I deleted the boxes, but could not get the auto-line to work, altho the automatic double line (type a few ===, then return) did. After cleaning up all that, I went to a file I had been working on and clicked "word count" at the bottom of the WP screen. I got a message saying there was insufficient memory, then WP crashed. This has happened every time I've reopened WP. As the only change in the system since it was working fine yesterday was the Tools message and clicking "reinstall", I have to figure that is somehow connected. The problem is, I can't find any way to remove Tools without deleting and reinstalling Parallels itself - which would be a major pain, given I had finally finished setting it up to mimic my old Vista configuration, except a few programs - such as Thunderbird and Firefox - that have Mac versions. I should note, however, that for the past week - well before the Tools issue, but after at least two weeks of working without a hitch - another of my favorite Windows programs - InfoSelect - began having serious problems. Now almost every time I launch it, I get a message saying some of the files are corrupt and it is creating a new Overview file in which it attempts to recreate the corrupted files. But I can't find anything wrong with the files it claims are corrupted. In some 25 years of using InfoSelect and its predecessor, I've never had this problem - including running it in Parallels 3 and later 4 on a Leopard MiniMac for two years. And, as noted, it ran fine on the new setup until about a week ago. If anyone has any idea, 1) how to remove Tools without reinstalling Parallels, 2) what - if not Tools - may be causing my WP problems, 3) likewise InfoSelect, I would be most grateful. Thanks, J.R.
