I have never been able to print from Parallels to my printer, and was advised to upgrade to Parallels 9. I suspect the 'advice' was given by a Parallels employee. Despite the upgrade, I still cannot print anything. The microsoft add printer menu reports my (connected) printer as offline. What gives? This is a huge disappointment - I hate windows enough!

I am using a MacBook Air, currently running Mountain Lion 10.8.5 (have not "upgraded" to Mavericks). My printer is an HP4400, works fine from Mac OS.

    Help!

Have you tried Setting up you printer as a 'Network' printer ?

    Hi,

I realise your post was a while ago so maybe this is no help. However I'm having a ton of problems with setting up an R3000 to print over USB from a Macbook Air running Windows XP under Parallels 8 and now 9. I've submitted a support request for this. However I noticed that I can successfully install the R3000 as a 'Network' printer and I can connect to it over wifi (it is a wifi enabled printer). Thought I would ask in case your model of printer has this option also. The R3000 is set up in this way but running the Epson install package. If this is an option for you I can double check the exact steps.

(I have a need to use the Epson Adjustment software to run an ink charge cycle and it is giving me communication error messages and as far as I can figure it is because it cannot 'see' the R3000 printer over USB. I have tried everything I can think of but the Epson driver installer can never seem to 'See' that the printer is connected and turned on during the install, and I think this is the root of the problem)

    Best wishes.

Here is what worked for me - Parallels desktop (the double line icon) > Devices > External Devices > then select your printer. My printer was listed with a check mark next to it. When I selected the printer, it unchecked it and I could print again. Hope this helps.
