Everytime I hit the play button after setting up a VM it would crash before I could even install Windows XP. I just downloaded the newest release with the Installation Assistant and as soon as it said asked for me to put in the installation CD and I clicked OK it crashed the machine. This has gotten so bad that I believe Parallels is starting to do damage to the OS or the actual hardware with all these hard crashes as what used to take 20-30 seconds for a full boot on the Mac now takes upwards of 2 minutes! Upon reboot this is the message I get: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A3135): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, Type 27=Unknown), registers: CR0: 0x80010033, CR2: 0x3d473000, CR3: 0x00f54000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0x0000000a, EBX: 0x6d626572, ECX: 0x00000000, EDX: 0x00ed6fc0 CR2: 0x3d473000, EBP: 0x252c3b18, ESI: 0x6d616769, EDI: 0x63216e75 EFL: 0x00000246, EIP: 0x3c4e12d1, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x3d470010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x252c3908 : 0x128d08 (0x3c9afc 0x252c392c 0x131de5 0x0) 0x252c3948 : 0x1a3135 (0x3cf7b0 0x0 0x1b 0x3c8fc4) 0x252c3a58 : 0x19a904 (0x252c3a70 0x252c0048 0x252c0010 0x190010) 0x252c3b18 : 0x3be6b10a (0x3929118 0x0 0x3929104 0x169) 0x252c3bd8 : 0x3be6b862 (0x3929104 0x252c3eb8 0x18 0x0) 0x252c3d38 : 0x3be688c7 (0x3929104 0xc0185401 0x252c3eb8 0x6) 0x252c3d68 : 0x1ef46e (0xd000000 0xc0185401 0x252c3eb8 0x81) 0x252c3da8 : 0x1e62f0 (0x252c3dd0 0x297 0x252c3e08 0x4089bb8) 0x252c3e08 : 0x1de149 (0x493318c 0xc0185401 0x252c3eb8 0x81) 0x252c3e58 : 0x330669 (0x40e62c0 0xc0185401 0x252c3eb8 0x4089bb8) 0x252c3e88 : 0x34e9c5 (0x40e62c0 0xc0185401 0x252c3eb8 0x4089bb8) 0x252c3f58 : 0x3787be (0x4089bb8 0x4483878 0x44838bc 0x0) 0x252c3fc8 : 0x19acde (0x4182e00 0x0 0x10 0x0) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xbfffeb38 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.parallels.kext.vmmain(2.2)@0x3be67000 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.2: Thu Sep 28 20:43:26 PDT 2006; root:xnu-792.14.14.obj~1/RELEASE_I386 Please let me know what I can do? . This is a how to forum, for posting solutions. If you post in the tech forum appropriate to your host OS, you will get more help. .
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by reproducable.... everytime I try to start the VM the exact same thing happens, the shadow of death as I like to call it covers the screen and the Apple message telling me to hold down the power button and reboot. An FYI - This is one of the new Core 2 Duo's that just came out last week. Constant - My appologies, I wasn't sure exactly which forum this belonged in and I was hoping for a solution on How To.... make this work lol. If someone would like to tell me how to move this over to the other forum, or can move it for me, I would not be opposed to that. Thank you all. Ben
blshapiro, Did you upgraded to latest 1970 build? You can find more info in this topic - http://forum.parallels.com/thread5512.html .
