Just wanted to open a thread addressing the sound latency issue. There is very little latency on my minimac going straight out of the audio outputs (via optical output, no soundcard or firewire audio interface). It's pretty much undetectable. However, when I open up an XP VM and fire up Sound Forge, the latency gets pretty bad. Frequently it's over a second or more from the time that I press play on a region to the time I hear the sound. Is this something that can be fine-tuned?
This is my one hang-up in buying the program. I want to use it to windows watch streaming. Any official word on a solution to the latency problem? Given how quickly things have been improving I guess we have every reason to think this'll get taken care of, but I'd like some word from the folks in charge.
