Sound always muted when quitting Parallels... [SOLVED]

I run Parallels Workstation in Debian Linux (Etch). Sound works fine in a Parallels VM (running another Linux distro), but when I shut it down then the sound in the host OS is always muted. I'm getting very annoyed at having to unmute it every time I have used Parallels Workstation for Linux.

Is there a way to configure Parallels to not do this?

Answering my own question... The source of the problem must be the guest OS, since Parallels passes volume/mixer settings to the host OS. My guest OS-es are various Debian-based OS-es, like Debian Sid and Ubuntu Feisty, and the way to shut off the muting and also the storing of the volume/mixer settings is to remove the /etc/rc[0,6].d/K50alsa-utils links.
