Hi, I used to use VMWare but switched to Parallels.. now Im beginning to wonder why. I have Parallels Build 7.0.14924 and a new MacBookPro 2.3Ghz. I have a virtual machine with XP configured. All works, but every time I touch Parallels (to start or stop it), it takes a good 3-5 minutes to just get XP fired up. It slows my whole computer down and as I only want to run IE for browser testing its becomming a real burdon! I am assuming this is not a common fault else the Parallels product would not exist! But can anyone shed some light in places I shoudl look to find faults, reasons why it is running so slow? Thank you for your help. Al
I agree that something changed regarding the speed of Parallels 7 and Mac OSX Lion. Parallels 6 did not have the kind of performance issues I'm seeing with version 7. When I run Windows 7 apps like quicken, I always see long pauses in the execution with (not responding) warnings in the app windows. It just seems like the time slice for the VM is out of whack and the mac isn't giving the VM enough time. I don't know if there is a way to tweak the VM time slice. I certainly can't find a way to do it. But this didn't happen with Ver 6 of Parallels and everything is the same.
