Hi, Has anyone been using a PRS-505 reader on their MacBook, using Vista and Parallels as the interface ? If so, or as well as, can anyone tell me how to get back my scroll-bar in the bottom of the e-Library viewing pane ? It was there the first instant I uploaded the software but has since disappeared and I cannot now view the preview pane, which is kinda important. I have spent two days on phone to Sony and they assure me the problem is with Parallels and Mac, not them. Any ideas anyone ? Yes, we uninstalled and reinstalled the Sony software a 1000 times. Dr Hook MacBook Mac OS X (10.5.1) 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Hi, First thing you can try is reinstalling Parallels tools: Start Parallels and your Windows > From menu select Actions > Install Parallels tools > Follow installation Wizard instructions > Restart Windows when installation is done. If this does not help can you post here screenshots of what you currently have in e-Library viewing panel and a screenshot of correct look of e-Library viewing panel.
Ziba - thanks for that. I've tried doing what you say but get as far as the install wizard which then tells me I need VGA resolution (without doing anything about it) and when I click OK it signs out. I also have a script that keeps appearing that says : [C[ Microsoft Windows Vista Timed out waiting for the file system to intialize. The volume has been ejected. You can use the init_timeout mount option to wait longer. Any ideas on that ? John - thanks for the link. Been there, read a few threads and come to the conclusion that Parallels and Sony do not see eye to eye - must be a way round it so will keep searching. Thanx anyway.
Looks like something with MacFuse You can try following: - Install new version of MacFuse http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/ - or reinstall Parallels Desktop as described in http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790
Ebook vs Real book, What are your perceptions? Do you feel ebooks are generally of substandard when compared to real books. Will you buy an ebook if it received considerable positive reviews? Thanks. ___________ eBook Readers
I think e-books will be useful for studying. Text, multimedia etc in one small package vs. large folios would be advantageous. For leasure I'd want to keep my books. Would I want to use an ebook reader at the beach? on the plane as it's approaching the runway and cabin crew are asking passengers to turn off all electronic devices? on a lengthy bus journey when the battery's running out? in bed where it's cozy? Nah.
