I've installed the latest Solaris 9 on the new Beta of Parallels (Aug 7th, 2006) using ISO images attached as the CDROM and I'm having some trouble with the system (same thing happens with the current GA release): 1) The VM will randomly boot into either a mode where the keyboard is in fast repeat mode (in this case you can't type anything into the login prompt because each character repeats 4-5 times, every time) or it boots into a mode where this doesn't happen. In the fast repeat mode, a 'sleep 60' finishes in about 6 seconds. In no repeat mode it never finishes. (The tests were done logged in from a network connection) 2) kdmconfig thinks it has a VESA card but when you get to testing the screen, it resizes and then goes black. 3) Attempting to install an older version of Solaris 9 8/03 causes Parallels to crash as soon as the VM boots and tries to enumerate the devices (possibly the IDE). This is with a real CD attached as the CDROM device. This also happens with Solaris 8. All of the above are on a MacBook with 2GB RAM. Any workarounds?
Thanks for reporting! Issue #1 probably is already fixed and will be included into next public build.
