I'm trying to add a second volume to my solaris 10 install. I added a second disk to the parallels virtual machine and then booted into solaris. It appears it can see the drive but I can't do anything with it. # format Searching for disks...done AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS: 0. c0d0 <DEFAULT cyl 20803 alt 2 hd 16 sec 63> /pci@0,0/pci-ide@1f,1/ide@0/cmdk@0,0 1. c1d0 <DEFAULT cyl 8321 alt 2 hd 16 sec 63> /pci@0,0/pci-ide@1f,1/ide@1/cmdk@0,0 Specify disk (enter its number): 1 selecting c1d0 illegal request Ready to get manufacturer's defect list from unformatted drive. What do I need to do to get this drive setup so Solaris can use it? thanks, Bill
More information. When I issue the format command it takes ages (minutes) to come back with the drive list. It should come back fairly fast. Anyone played with multiple drives in a solaris install under parallels? Bill
