Ok, so i have read up a bit on the snapshot feature. I've used it as well and didn't realize until yesterday what was taking up over 150 gigabytes+ of my hard disk space. This was making it so my backup was too large for Time Machine. I had the number of snapshots up to 10 I believe before I deleted them and reclaimed the space.

In any case, I switched it to "optimize for time machine" and wondering why the "Take a snapshot" and "Snapshots to keep" is now greyed out? I want to know or at least control that feature and make sure its not taking up another 100g of hard disk space again. Any pointers?

    Hi JacquelineK,

You can set Parallels Desktop > Configure > Options > Backup > SmartGuard to Custom and set the preferred parameters for the Snapshots.
