Has anyone been able to get SMS to work in Windows XP within Parallels? My network guys have joined my Guest OS to the domain and I am able to see and access network drives, use outlook with the Exchange Server, etc. with no problem, but SMS won't see programs published by the SMS server. I have looked at the SMS configuration and it indicates everything is operating fine and it lists the correct corporate SMS server, but no luck. I'm wondering if this is a problem others are also having, and if not whether there were any configuration steps that were needed.

    Unfortunately, no.

We can't push the SMS client...won't install. And the SMS server doesn't see my Parallels XP instance, either. Frustrating.

Are you using bridged networking? If not, your VM won't show up on the external network. Might be the answer...

    Nice catch, but no.

We thought of that as well. Switching between shared and bridged doesn't seem to provide any relief. In bridged mode the server can ping the VM, but for some reason SMS doesn't talk to it.

Is anyone from the Parallels team willing to chime in on this one? It'd make things loads easier if we could get SMS working.

Well, what port does your SMS run on? You will need Bridged unless you configure natd and ipfw to properly forward the SMS communication onto the VM.

It is a good sign that it can ping. Might there be anything else in your network that is screwing with things when you have bridged on?
